Common juniper is a small evergreen-like tree that is related to cedar, cypress and other conifers. The berries can be used to add a pine-like flavor to your recipe.  The berries are also used as a flavoring agent in gin, so if you're a fan of gin, you may consider using this in your next batch of homebrew!
