Lactose can be used when you want to sweeten a dry or bitter beer. It is non-fermentable, which provides the residual sweetness. Lactose is commonly used in milk stouts, and can provide a rounded mouthfeel to any beer. There is no fermentation period or rest needed, so your homebrew can be bottled immediately. Add to hot water and mix thoroughly before adding to your beer. Add at end of fermentation, before bottling.
We recommend using between 4 oz to 1 lb per 5 gallons. Use to taste.
