i've done some brewing in the past, but this was the first one i did by myself, i added more hops to it for a little more bite. all that had it , LOVED IT !!! five gallons of beer went real quick, my wife , who doesnt like dark beers, became a fan. i had to order more !!!

This was my first home brew and I thought it was great. For a first time brewer the instructions provider were a little confusing but the brewing videos provided through this website were great. The beer had a great taste all the way through. Fermentation took 5 days resulting around 4.6%-4.8% ABV. Priming took 2 weeks resulting in a great beer. 5 gallons resulted in 52 12oz bottles, the kit is listed at 50 caps but mine came with 55 or 56. Highly recommend this beer.

This was my FIRST home brew and it was amazing. I'm not sure if it's normal to go through 5 gallons of beer in two weeks (between my wife and I), but we did. It was amazingly smooth with great head and mouth feel. Easy drinking with a great finish. I should of given it a better stir after adding the bottling sugar, but overall...for my first beer. It was great. I just started the intermediate brew with the oatmeal stout and for my third batch, I'll be doing an AG...probably with the Ponderosa...

Very decent clean porter. Slightly sweet finish for those that dont like a hoppy or dark beer with a bite. I'd order and make it again but would add a bittering finish hops to the recipe.
