Today I am going to give you an overview of what comes in our Wine Making Kit with Ingredients. I'll give a short explanation of what each item is for, but I won't give you instructions on how to make wine in this video. This kit includes all the equipment you will need to make wine. It does not include your first set of bottles. You'll need approximately 30 for each batch, and you can even re-use your own bottles. All of the equipment is completely re-usable, and you will only need to replenish the chemicals needed to sanitize everything before making your wine.

Each kit will include a 7.9 gallon primary fermenting bucket with a tightly fitting lid and a grommet-ed hole. This is the vessel that most of the fermentation will occur in, and in which all or your initial ingredients are mixed in. We include a plastic Better Bottle 6 gallon secondary fermenter for you. Your wine will finish fermenting in this container, and will start to clear as well. We include a #10 stopper and 3 piece airlock to keep unwanted microbes out of your wine. You will find a triple scale hydrometer in your kit, and it is used to determine when to transfer and bottle your wine, as well as to determine how much alcohol is in your wine. We include a full compliment of siphoning equipment for you. This includes clear tubing, a rigid siphoning cane to help you avoid sucking up debris, and a springless bottle filler. The bottle filler is a very easy way to fill bottles, and instructions on siphoning and bottling can be found in some of our other videos.

We include a bottle brush in our kits so that you can easily clean-out used wine bottles and re-use them for your home made wine. In order to keep your wine clean and great tasting, we include enough sanitizing chemicals for your first batch of wine. You may need to buy more for your bottles and corks when it comes time to bottle. We toss in 30 of our #8 X 1.5” corks. These corks are the perfect size for the majority of wine bottles available to you. The double lever corker we include is very easy to use, and does an excellent job of making sure your finished wine is protected in the bottle. Each kit will also come with a booklet of over 100 wine recipes, including both grape and other fruit wine recipes for you to try.

Finally, you have the option of including either a Vintners Reserve or a Selection ingredient kit. These ingredient kits include everything you need to make 6 gallons of wine. The Vintners Reserve kits are a very good for beginners, and the Selection kits are made with higher quality grapes and will in general make better wine.
