Today I am going to go over the equipment that comes in our basic beer making starter kit with ingredients. This kit includes everything you need to start brewing except for a pot large enough to safely boil 3 gallons of liquid, and two cases of 12 ounce bottles to put your finished beer into. First we have a 6 1/2 gallon plastic fermenting bucket with a tightly fitting grommet-ted lid.
Next we include another bucket with a hole pre-cut out for the included spigot. This is your bottling bucket, which you will use to bottle your finished beer. We include a three piece airlock, which will fit into the grommet in your fermenting bucket's lid. This airlock will allow gasses formed during fermentation out, but keep everything else out of your beer. You will find a package of One-Step no rinse sanitizer. This is used to sanitize your equipment after you clean it and before you brew with it. To make moving your beer from the fermentation bucket to the bottling bucket easier, we include a bent plastic tube called a racking cane, and 4 feet of siphoning hose. For instructions on how to properly siphon your beer, please refer to our siphoning video. We also include a bottle filler, which you will use to fill your bottles with beer.
Next on our list is a self-adhesive liquid crystal thermometer that you will stick to the outside of your fermenting bucket. The triple scale hydrometer included will tell you when your beer is done fermenting, and how much alcohol you have made. Again, please refer to our other videos on how to use this piece of equipment. The bucket clip we include is a handy way of keeping your siphon equipment in one place. When it comes time to bottle your beer, we include a bottle capper which safely crimps the caps, or crowns, onto the tops of each of your beer bottles. In order to clean recycled beer bottles, we include a bottle brush. Each starter kit will include a short book that will introduce you to the brewing process, and provide you with a few of your first beer recipes.
Finally each of our starter kits comes with your choice of one Alpine Brew Kit. This Brew Kit includes all the ingredients needed for 5 gallons of beer, as well as the caps for your first set of bottles.
